- NORTH CAROLINA ONLY
PIEDMONT COMPANY POLICE
Sworn law enforcement services for eligible properties in Greensboro, High Point and Charlotte, NC
- THE DEPARTMENT
a dedicated law enforcement presence
Piedmont Company Police Department provides sworn officers for qualifying client properties under North Carolina’s Company Police Act. Officers can patrol, respond to calls for service, investigate crimes, and take lawful enforcement action within the scope of their commission and jurisdiction.
Every assignment starts with a clear understanding of the property, the coverage schedule, and the department’s legal authority. Company police services are available only in North Carolina.
- PUBLIC DUTY
AN OATH TO UPHOLD THE LAW
Before serving, company police officers take an oath of office to support and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States and the Constitution and laws of North Carolina. Their duty is to exercise law enforcement authority lawfully and impartially.
Company police officers do not enforce private property rules that are not law. Property management or assigned security personnel handle violations of site rules. If conduct also violates the law, company police officers may respond within their legal authority and jurisdiction.

CLEAR LIMITS, COORDINATED RESPONSE
Authority is tied to the qualifying property and applicable law. Security officers and company police officers perform different roles; we can discuss whether one division or a combined program fits the property.
Company police services are offered only in North Carolina. Eligibility and the scope of an assignment must be reviewed before service begins.

Work with residents, tenants, staff, and property managers to identify recurring problems and improve reporting.
- LEGAL FOOTPRINT
JURISDICTION AND PROGRAM SETUP
North Carolina company police authority arises from the officer’s commission and the property relationship recognized by the Company Police Act. Before service begins, we verify the qualifying property and the client’s possession and control, define the premises covered, and identify the authorized duties. Officers coordinate with municipal, county, and other agencies as circumstances require.
Clients can choose recurring mobile police patrol, a dedicated officer, or a defined supplemental detail. The assignment states the schedule, dispatch and after-hours contact process, reports, and the issues to receive directed attention.
