• TRAINED PRESENCE

ARMED SECURITY SERVICES

An armed security assignment for properties where the site assessment and client needs call for an elevated protective presence.

  • SERVICE DESIGN

DEFINE THE ROLE BEFORE DEPLOYMENT

Armed security can be appropriate for selected commercial, residential, and event assignments. The scope of work should state where officers will be posted or patrol, how they communicate, the expected response to incidents, and when outside law enforcement or emergency services should be called.

Armed security officers operate under the requirements that apply in the state of assignment. They are distinct from sworn company police officers.

CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY

In North Carolina, some eligible properties may benefit from company police rather than, or alongside, armed security. We can explain the operational differences and review whether company police is available for your location.

  • DEFINED RESPONSIBILITIES

What an armed assignment includes

An armed officer’s presence is one element of the site plan. We specify the post or patrol route, access responsibilities, communications, incident notification, and when the officer must request law enforcement or emergency medical assistance. Assignments are staffed according to applicable licensing, registration, and training requirements in the state where the work occurs.

We also review site-specific risks such as public entry, visibility, solitary posts, cash or valuable assets, and the expected interaction with residents or customers. Armed security does not carry the same law enforcement authority as Piedmont Company Police.
